The Performative Nature of Mud and Metal

This keynote address at the 10th Landscape Biennial in Barcelona argued for the primary importance of dealing with the technical aspects of machinery and sediment in designing coastal landscapes and argued that an aesthetics of mud and metal must be developed if landscape architecture is going to work effectively in rapidly changing coastal landscapes most at issue in our civilization.
